DCS MH and DigiLocker: Farmer ID Documents

DigiLocker is the Government of India's official app and website for holding your documents in digital form. As farmer records move into AgriStack, people increasingly look for their Farmer ID and related documents through DigiLocker.

This page explains what DigiLocker is, how to reach documents linked to your Farmer ID, and how to stay safe. The official DigiLocker link is at the very bottom of the page.

One honest caveat up front: whether a specific credential appears in DigiLocker depends on the issuing department publishing it there. We cannot promise your Farmer ID will already be present.

What DigiLocker is

DigiLocker is a Government of India service, part of the Digital India programme, for issuing and holding documents in digital form. A document issued directly by a department into DigiLocker is an official digital copy — not a photo or a scan you uploaded yourself. You sign in with your mobile number and Aadhaar-based verification, and reach it through the official app or website.

DigiLocker and your Farmer ID

As farmer records move into AgriStack, people look for their Farmer ID and land documents in DigiLocker. Here we have to be straight with you: whether a specific document is there depends on the issuing department having published it into DigiLocker. We cannot confirm that your Farmer ID is available in DigiLocker today.

The reliable place to create and manage a Farmer ID is the Maharashtra Farmer Registry. DigiLocker is where an issued copy may later be available to carry, not where the Farmer ID is created. Our Farmer ID page covers how the ID itself is obtained.

How to reach your documents

If you want to check what is available under your name:

  1. Install DigiLocker from the official store, or open the official website — the link is at the bottom of this page. Avoid look-alike apps.

  2. Sign in or create your account with your mobile number and Aadhaar-based verification.

  3. Look under "Issued documents", or browse the issuers for the relevant department. Search by the document or department name.

  4. If the document is available, add it to your account. If it is not listed, it has not been published there yet — use the Farmer Registry portal instead.

Staying safe

DigiLocker holds Aadhaar-linked identity, so treat it carefully:

  • use only the official DigiLocker app and website
  • never share your OTP or DigiLocker PIN with anyone
  • be wary of anyone offering to "get your Farmer ID" or "unlock your documents" for a fee
  • do not upload your Aadhaar or documents to unknown websites that claim to fetch them for you

This is the official DigiLocker link, kept to the bottom of the page. It opens in a new tab. Remember that a document appears here only if the issuing department has published it.

To create or manage the Farmer ID itself, use the Farmer Registry: Maharashtra Farmer Registry portal (opens the official site in a new tab).

Frequently asked questions

Is my Farmer ID available in DigiLocker?

We cannot confirm that it is. A document appears in DigiLocker only when the issuing department publishes it there. Check under your issued documents; if it is not listed, use the Maharashtra Farmer Registry portal instead.

Is DigiLocker free to use?

Yes. DigiLocker is a free Government of India service. If anyone asks you to pay to "unlock" or "fetch" your documents, that is not an official route.

I cannot find my document in DigiLocker — what now?

Most likely it has not been published into DigiLocker yet. This is not a fault on your phone. Use the Maharashtra Farmer Registry portal, or ask at the Talathi office, to reach the record directly.
