DCS MH Registration: Step by Step

Registration depends on who you are. A crop surveyor registers on the Digital Crop Survey portal and is approved by the authority before any survey is assigned. A farmer recording their own crop does not register as a surveyor at all — they get a Farmer ID through the Maharashtra Farmer Registry.

This page walks through both, step by step, with the details and documents you need. The official registration links are at the very bottom of the page.

Who needs to register, and where

Two different people register in two different places:

  • a crop surveyor — someone taking up survey duty — registers on the Digital Crop Survey portal and is approved before any task is assigned;
  • a farmer recording their own crop does not become a surveyor. They obtain a Farmer ID through the Maharashtra Farmer Registry, and record their crop in the Revenue Department's e-Peek Pahani app.

The registration flow, step by step

Across the AgriStack apps the flow has the same shape. Screens differ between builds, so we describe the logic rather than button positions.

  1. Visit the official portal, or download the app. The links are at the bottom of this page.

  2. Choose your type — Farmer, or Official / Surveyor. This decides which registration you get.

  3. Verify your mobile number. An OTP is sent to it, and your identity is confirmed through Aadhaar-based e-KYC.

  4. Fill in your personal and address details, then set an MPIN or password for future logins.

  5. Once registered, use your Farmer ID to view the land parcels linked to you and to submit crop details.

Registering as a crop surveyor

The Digital Crop Survey portal carries a "Become a Crop Surveyor" form. From what the portal shows, it asks for:

  • your first and last name
  • your Aadhaar number
  • an email address and a mobile number
  • your permanent address, with PIN code
  • your State, District, Taluka and city or village
  • a declaration that you are available for the current season

The portal states that a registration is approved by the authority before any survey task is assigned, and that the outcome is notified by SMS or email. It also indicates that a registration stays active for the current fiscal year and season only.

If you are a farmer: getting a Farmer ID

A farmer does not register as a surveyor. Farmer identity in AgriStack is created through the Maharashtra Farmer Registry using Aadhaar-based e-KYC. The result is a Farmer ID, which links the land parcels recorded in your name so a crop survey can be attached to them.

The full walkthrough is on our Farmer ID page. If you want the documents stored digitally, see DigiLocker.

What to keep ready

Have these to hand before you start, so you do not have to stop midway:

  • your Aadhaar number
  • the mobile number linked to your Aadhaar, since the OTP and e-KYC go to it
  • an email address
  • your address details, with PIN code
  • for a farmer, your land or Gat details to check the linkage afterwards

If registration will not complete

A few failures come up repeatedly at the sign-up step. Most are server-side, so the fix is usually patience plus the right next step, not a change on your phone.

  1. No OTP arrives. Wait two or three minutes rather than tapping repeatedly — each new request cancels the last OTP. Check the phone's SMS filter and any DND setting, and try again at a quieter time.

  2. A "UFSI not configured" message at sign-up. Users have reported this on the registration step. It is a server-side configuration message, not something your phone caused. Update the app, wait, and retry later; if it persists, report it at the Talathi office.

  3. A "too many requests" message. You have retried too quickly and the server is rate-limiting you. Stop, wait several minutes, then make a single fresh attempt.

  4. It later asks for a password you never set. The password step may not have completed. See our login help, which covers this exact case.

These are the official links, kept to the bottom of the page on purpose. Each opens the government portal in a new tab. Choose the one that matches who you are.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a fee to register for DCS MH?

The app is listed free on Google Play and the official Digital Crop Survey privacy policy states the service is provided at no cost. If anyone asks you to pay to register or "to get your crop recorded", that is not an official route.

Can a farmer register as a surveyor?

Surveyor registration is for people taking up survey duty, and it is approved by the authority before tasks are assigned. A farmer who only wants to record their own crop does not need it — they use a Farmer ID and the e-Peek Pahani app instead.

How long does surveyor approval take?

We cannot confirm a timeline, so we will not state one. The portal says the outcome is notified by SMS or email. If you have waited a long time with no word, ask at the Talathi office.

Do I need Aadhaar to register?

Identity is confirmed through Aadhaar-based e-KYC, so you need the mobile number linked to your Aadhaar to receive the OTP. Exactly what each build asks for can vary, so we describe the common flow rather than stating fixed requirements.
